Despite his years of experience as a planner, the author does not grasp the complexity of planning for a publicly owned tourism attraction.He points to Disney for examples of how crowds can be better managed, then bemoans [his perception] that planning is profit-driven. He says that only internal staff are used for planning when in fact professional consultants were very involved in the recent plans. He says the choices are profit-druven, but neglects to mention many concession operations were eliminated in the new plans (gas station, horse rides, retail and food outlets..)... and that park officials were called to testify before Congress to defend these decisions.
And any time an expert frequently quotes Wikipedia, I have to doubt the effort truly involved in the research.
There are some good points within, but poor research makes the conclusions suspect.
